The 2014 Summer Session begins Saturday June 14 at Bluemont Park in Arlington VA. Each session will run for 90 minutes beginning at 9am (SHARP!!). Sessions will run through July 26 with a break for July 4.
The sessions are FREE and no purchases are necessary.
Coaches will take players through various fun and safe games and activities designed to teach the skills and rules of Australian football.
Australian football was developed in Melbourne Australia in the 1850s and is based on the rules and ideas from numerous developing football codes including soccer, rugby and Gaelic football as well as indigenous Australian games.
Saturday Morning Footy is based on the highly successful Australian youth sporting program, AFL Auskick, and started here in Arlington in 2006. Today Saturday Morning Footy is the biggest youth Australian football program in the United States.
Coaches from the Baltimore Washington Eagles and Lady Eagles, will join SMF coaches in running the program.
Each session will end with a non-contact game in each age group.
Snacks will be provided after each session.
